New matchmaking event in Turkey

From 18-19 May 2017 a new matchmaking event hosted by the Turkish Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters Association will take place in Antalya.

The Turkish Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters Association is the only Exporters Association in Turkey, which represents all the ornamental plant exporters.

The association was founded in 1999 to represent and support the Turkish ornamental plant sector, in order to achieve sustainable and competitive development in exports. The association has more than 500 members of ornamental plant exporters in Turkey.

Horti2Match Turkey
The aim of the association is to bring their growers in direct contact with suppliers of seedlings, cuttings and bulbs but also horticultural technology within a small-scale setting, enabling both participants as well as the growers to have effective meetings, which underlines the targeted approach of this event.

The Horti2Match event is based on visit by invitation only. The visitors will be invited by the Turkish Ornamental Plants and Products Exporters Association and will be carefully selected, based on the product groups represented at the event, in order to maintain high quality matchmaking.

The event is supported by: the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, Royal FloraHolland and MPS.

The association only granted a limited number of available locations to the organisers in order to maintain the high quality of the event. Furthermore there is a limitation within each product group allowing not more than 2 suppliers within the same product group to participate.

Registration deadline for participants is 31 March 2017.

Turkish market for ornamental plants
Turkey is a country that is optimally situated for ornamental plant production. It has many advantages for a prospering horticultural sector, like having a favorable climate for production of cut flowers, geographical proximity to the main markets, production in modern greenhouses and cheap and skilled labor.

Production area of ornamental plants in Turkey has increased 30% in the last four years. Ornamental plants are produced in some 4600 ha of area in Turkey. Export value of Ornamental plants export increased to USD 81 million in 2016. Sectorial target is to reach 500 million dollars of export in the year 2023!

The production in the highland area allows to export cut flowers year round to the markets. Turkish ornamental plants are exported to 60 countries in the world.
