Cutting roses are one of the flowers with the largest growing surface area and market share in China. With the market's demand for high-quality flowers has gradually increased, more Chinese rose growers have shifted from soil cultivation to soil-less cultivation. Compared to traditional soil-based cultivation, substrate rose cultivation provides more precise control of water and fertilizer, consequently increasing rose production quality and quantity.

Meteor Systems has been working with Baiyi since 2020 to supply a whole growing solution for better substrate grow rose. Meteor Systems recently finished a new 2-ha cutting rose project with Baiyi in December 2023. Baiyi Yinong Investment Company is a leading company in China. Since 2020, Baiyi has started 4 new rose projects, in total 40ha high-tech glasshouses integrating Dutch technologies.
The plan was committed to applying the most advanced Dutch technology to China, providing first-class flower products for the growing Chinese flower market. Together with their partner Aibida, the project was a huge success in providing high-quality roses to the Chinese market.
Compared with traditional soil growing rose, the Meteor Systems steel gutter uses a small substrate volume, making plant management more active. At the same time, the steel cultivation gutter has a better drain. In addition, using steel gutter provides better ventilation near the cultivation trough, which can reduce the rate of pests and diseases. In a word, it is a more modern, highly efficient mode of rose production.
