UK: RHS makes overview of AGM awarded Euphorbias

The Euphorbia is a popular flowering genera and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) made an overview of the species that received an Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Between 2013 and 2015 the RHS trialled Euphorbia on the Trials Field at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, the UK. In total, 95 entries were trialled, generally submitted as 2-litre plants by breeders, nurseries and individuals from the UK and Europe.

The species and selections were trialed by a forum made up of 10 experts, and the best plants earned AGM. Euphorbias with an existing AGM were reviewed, a number of AGM's were rescinded and others affirmed. All euphorbias with an AGM are included in this guide.

What is actually the RHS Award of Garden Merit?
The RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) is intended to help gardeners select plants that have good all-round garden value, and is only awarded to plants that are:
• excellent for ordinary use in appropriate conditions;
• available;
• of good constitution;
• essentially stable in form and colour;
• reasonably resistant to pests and diseases.
