Ranzijn de Bilt has been re-opened. Over the last month, the building was renovated and has undergone a metamorphose. Thermoflor realized the activities for Ranzijn. Thermoflor is a well-known company in the sector due to the construction of several greenhouses and garden centres. The company is also known for their processing and logistic areas. They carried out different projects in this sector throughout Europe.
Indoor processing area
In 2015 Thermoflor supplied processing areas for the Dutch flower bulb producer Kébol and for PT Creations, a plant arrangement specialist. Both companies needed a bigger indoor processing area. PT Creations acquired a modern hall for offices and logistics. This was supplemented with 3,800 m2 sized Thermoflor buildings for processing and logistics.
For Kébol, Thermoflor built a new hall for the production and processing of several flower bulb species. Last month the construction kicked off. The 11,000 m2 sized building consists of a 17m wide-span greenhouse with a plastic roof made of polycarbonate. At the same time, an office block will be realized.
Optimal climate and growing conditions
The knowledge and experience of Thermoflor, regarding greenhouses and logistics centres come together nicely for reconstruction of the Swiss Rutishauser Nursery. At this nursery, potted plants and tulips in several sizes are being cultivated and traded.
A complex steel construction in combination with a gutter hight of 8 meters provides sufficient space to grow multiple layers and to handle the multitude of logistical operations. The roof is equipped with diffuse glass, which provides optimal climate and growing conditions. The tulips and plants grow on automated rolling tables. The project will be completed this summer.
