Last year, Kanok Seed decided to focus on the production of hydrangeas. In order to explore the possibilities, the International Manager of Kanok Seed, Mr Suwat visited the IPM in late January. Soon after returning from the IPM, they started to import pre-finished hydrangeas in 14 cm pots from a German breeder for a trial production and, in turn, their display at the Horti Asia in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the Horti Asia there was a lot of attention for the hydrangeas of Kanok Seed. "During and after the show, we received a lot of inquiries from landscapers, large hotels, resorts etc," says Chutarattanakul.
Therefore, they imported a second container, from the same German breeder after the show. The container arrived on the first of May and the plants are now being grown to finishing on cultivation tables in the greenhouse of Kanok Seed.

"The third container is already underway", says Chutarattanakul. last Friday, on May 22, another Reefer container was loaded in France with pre-finished hydrangeas of Horteve Breeding.

As the demand for hydrangea is high and constantly increasing, Kanok Seed is planning to import more hydrangeas this year. "In the future, we would like to supply Thailand and the AEC market year round with hydrangeas. Therefore, we are planning to import three more containers with many different pre-finished hydrangea sizes, this year."
