UK: HTA National Plant show to host Breakthrough Breast Cancer Rose Launch

This year’s HTA National Plant Show, held at Stoneleigh Park on 23 and 24 June, is delighted to be the host of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Rose Launch. Joined by Pop Idol judge and RHS Chelsea Flower Show host, Nicki Chapman, she will launch the rose and talk about why this project is important to the garden industry and consumers. Peter Hull from Nursery Fresh will then give a brief overview of how they got involved with Breakthrough and talk about the rose and how it will raise money for the charity. The launch will be taking place in the seminar area on Wednesday 24 June at 1pm. The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Rose will be used to decorate the seminar area throughout the day.

Every day over 135 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. It is only with continued funding that Breakthrough Breast Cancer are able to invest in vital breast cancer research that ensures these women, and all others diagnosed with breast cancer, receive the best possible treatment. The rose will make a significant difference to the lives we are able to save. It is possible within 35 years to stop all women dying from breast cancer. This will be an incredible achievement, but it is only possible with continued fundraising support. Breast cancer has already taken too many lives. It’s time to put an end to it.

The Breakthrough Rose will be available to purchase at the show with a £1 donation given to the charity for every rose purchased.
