Every week, the number of members of FloraXchange increases with 5 to 10 new growers. Currently, there are about 900 members. Where is this success coming from? Why are growers and exporters signing up for FloraXchange en masse?
Jan van der Lans, account manager at FloraXchange: “FloraXchange is a communication platform that supports growers in spreading their current supply. Growers put their range on FloraXchange and from there, their specific supply can be seen by the buyers with which they are linked. The grower wants to do that with us as we link all the different types of software. The grower doesn't have to upload anything anywhere else, or to link to PlantConnect, for example, or - very importantly - with the webshop of the exporter. Whatever the software used by the grower and the exporter, via FloraXchange we make sure that all information is accessible and exchangable. The exporter doesn't have to wade through piles of mails with supply lists and he can also filter the supply easily. At heart, it's that simple and it's growing because members are inviting each other (so the growth is organic).
The business does not change the supply chain - Van der Lans stresses that point - and doesn't want to. "We facilitate, make connections and ensure software connections. We make sure that communication works better. Both parties have an easier life on the ICT front, they can find each other easily and come in contact with each other."
