Novelties at the FlowerTrials 2015:

Highlighted: Selecta Klemm, Dümmen Orange, Geranien Endisch, PAC-Elsner, Kientzler and Westhoff.

New varieties, mixes, scented plants, were all shown at the FlowerTrials 2015 that took place two weeks ago. 49 companies presented their new varieties in pot- and bedding plants in three regions in the Netherlands and Germany. Selecta Klemm and Dümmen Orange presented their new varieties an two locations, in the Netherlands and Germany. In this article we will only present the German locations of these companies and the ones of Geranien Endisch, PAC-Elsner, Westhoff and Kientzler.


Selecta Klemm participated at the FlowerTrials with two locations in Germany and the Netherlands. In Germany, they opened a permanent show garden at the premises of Christian Filla in Straelen in the Lower Rhine area. More than 500 Selecta varieties of the well-proven assortment and novelties were presented in baskets and containers. The show garden will be open beyond the FlowerTrials and give producers and retailers the opportunity to visit it all summer long until autumn, to make assortment decisions.

The cutting-raised newcomer is easy to grow and transport thanks to its semi-trailing plant habit. It flowers very early and impresses with excellent branching. Also Dümmen Orange participated at two location in the Netherlands and Germany.

Geranien Endisch presented their new varieties at Gartenbau Bongartz. The number of visitors was 10% higher compared to last year.


At the FlowerTrials, Geranien Endisch presented their broad assortment. Some novelties in this assortment are the Crispum Amarillo, a completely new genetic assembly in the Amarillo Nova Crispum series. Their benefits lie in improved branching and in very early flowing, which does not lose its magnificence until late summer. Easy cultivation, as no pinching or cool phase are required. Crispum x domesticum – hybrid Florella, a larger version of the smart, small flowered Amarillos. This cross is a new type of Pelargonium crispum x domesticum hybrid, which can now be offered in the early phase of the season. Hot Spot Pinkie, another novice in the Hot Spot® range. It replaces the well-known Hot Spot® Purple in the green-leaved segment. In addition to a round habit with medium growth, its blooms appear up to 10 days early.

Some novelties of Westhoff: Upper left: Chameleon. Chameleon marks an industry-first for Calibrachoa breeding. The plants continually change throughout the season, reacting to light levels, day length and other seasonal factors. Chameleon provides consumers with a unique blend of colors on a single plant. Kientzler presenter their new varieties of the international Proven Winners group. These new varieties show great performance for the end consumer and reliable qualities for the horticulturist. Some of the novelties are: red and orange Bidens, the colorful Petunias with star or the new addition to our summer flowering Osteospermum Summersmile™ and the additions to the seasonal concepts Spring Fling - Frühlingsflirt and Autumn Magic - Herbstzauber™. The wide collection of marketing tools that supports the sales, was also presented here.


Kientzler presented their new and existing varieties inside and outside, in their trial garden.
