23-25 September 2015 at Rimini Fiera:

Italy: Flora Trade Show simultaneously with MACFRUT

The appointment is getting close with the Flora Trade Show, the international expo for the floriculture/nursery and landscape sectors that is being held at Rimini Fiera from 23rd to 25th September and is already receiving important confirmations from the sector.

As well as strategic collaborations with the sector’s consortia and associations, numerous companies have already registered. Some of the leaders’ statements follow:

“Our association is formed by 10 companies trading in the floriculture sector and items for garden centres and nurseries”, states Cosimo Pagano Chairman of Florbusiness. “We unanimously decided to participate in the Flora Trade Show for various reasons. First of all, it is a new thing for the sector and it is of vital importance for us to take new directions, participating actively as key players. Plus, the central location of Rimini, easily reached from all over Italy, is a convincing guarantee that the domestic market will attend, as does the work we have seen carried out for the event’s internationalization. Last but not least, the great experience that Rimini Fiera has in the outdoor furniture world with the Sun expo bears witness to its competence and its strategic role in a sector that is very important for us.” Florbusiness supports Grandparents’ Day on 2nd October.

“Flormercati is open to all the innovations occurring in the floriculture/nursery world. This is why Flora Trade, which is a new event in this context, attracted our attention and participation”, stated Enrico Delucchi, director of Flormercati. “Being a new expo, we expect a dynamic event full of innovative proposals, practical rapid business meeting solutions and events within the events that can create virtuous systems for clinching business agreements. In fact, this sector needs new solutions to replace those of the past. In our opinion, Rimini’s strategic geographical position and the area’s hospitality will ensure the arrival of exhibitors and visitors not only from the north of Italy, but also the centre and south, involving all the regions that are important to our sector, such as Lazio, Tuscany and Apulia.”

“In a delicate period of transition in our trade, such as the present one, we believe that drastically cutting items on companies’ balance sheets allocated to promotion is a mistake. We are firm believers in a business upswing and only by means of opportunities for networking with other companies in the sector can we find new solutions together,” was the comment of Orlandi, leader of the Orlandi Group. “It is definitely a commitment, but we shall be at Flora Trade Show with a high profile, in the hope of finding others that, like us, are interested in joining forces and holding open discussions to create business opportunities for everyone. An annual appointment must be established, at which the Italian market can meet, discuss and come up with innovative ideas. We cannot allow foreign trade fairs to also represent our domestic market. Rimini has all it takes to fill this role.”

“Florcoop is formed by 24 members trading in a niche sector, that of acidophilic plants, azaleas, camellias rhododendrons and other minor species. Today, it is very important and strategic for us to contact new types of clients,” commented Eugenio Gioria, Chairman of Florcoop. “Thanks also to the fact that it is being held simultaneously with Macfrut, we expect that Flora Trade Show - which we all met with great enthusiasm - can open the doors to trade members involved in other more widespread distribution systems with targets that are closer to consumers and large-scale distributors. The expo’s success cannot obviously be decreed in 2015. We realize time is necessary, but have confidence in the first edition announced.”
