Still on the loose:

Venomous wandering spider found in bunch of flowers at FloraHolland

A venomous wandering spider was discovered by an employee in a bunch of flowers at the FloraHolland auction in Rijnsburg, the Netherlands. Afterwards, the spider was released outside and has still not been caught. The spider, Ctenidae, is highly aggressive and venomous, and are the only wandering spiders known to pose a serious danger to humans. One can die within 6 hours after being bitten.

However, Trouw (a Dutch magazine) says that a bite will only lead to a swelling in 90% of the cases, and according, to the newspaper, after asking a Dutch reptile centre, a wasp sting can be more dangerous.

No large investigation will take place. The spider will not go to the village and probably has been eaten by other animals already, says Walter Getreuer of the reptile center, reports NOS

The spider originates from Middle South America.
