Netherlands: New greenhouse for nursery Gerbera Star blooms

At the beginning of July this year, gerbera grower Marius Mans started production in his new greenhouse. He had an existing greenhouse in Brakel, the Netherlands and decided to expand with 25,000m2. The new greenhouse is fully equipped for Eco cultivation. In this principle the greenhouse air will be ventilated actively. Continuously refreshing the air provides the greenhouse with an optimum micro climate at the bottom of the crop. This way Gerbera Star can produce the same quality gerbera with less energy use.

The gerbera growing system which Meteor Systems developed, contains a couple of custom made solutions especially designed for Eco cultivation. This results in beautiful blossoming gerbera in all the colours of the rainbow. We chose Meteor Systems because of their extra strong pot rack. The rack does not bend so far and the pot falls into the rack deeper. Because of this, the pot is better fastened and stays perfectly in place.
