High tech greenhouse
In 2012, Nafis Agriculture established their greenhouse. As the worldwide demand for high quality flowers is increasing, they have chosen to establish a greenhouse that is equipped with advanced techniques. According to Nafis Agriculture's Saeed Mohammadi, the greenhouse is regarded as the greatest fully-automated hydroponics smart greenhouse complex in the Middle East. "The structure of the greenhouse is finished with UV glass and aluminium. It is equipped with cooling and heating systems, UV filtered fogging systems, modern CO2 controls, hot water system, cooling room for flowers' maintenance, sorting and fully automated packing machines. Also natural gas is used in this greenhouse. Regarding controlling environmental conditions inside the greenhouse, the complex is equipped with a control room."
Possible to enter world market
Currently, Nafis Agriculture's main market is Iran, but they are eager and able to expand. "We already export to some countries, mainly in the Middle East, but we would like to expand this export market." And according to Mohammadi, they have the capacity to make this happen. "Our high tech greenhouse, broad assortment of rose, anthuriums varieties, orchids and annual production of plants and flowers enables us to meet the demand of different countries. Of course, we cannot supply every variety that each country requires, but we are able to meet the majority of their needs," says Mohammadi. Besides this growing operation, the company also has its own Research and Development department. "With this department we can enhance the genetics of our flowers and plants and start developing and introducing new varieties, focused on the demand from our export markets."
Expanding greenhouse and assortment
The company wants to expand its growing operation and assortment soon. "When the demand for our flowers increases, we would like to expand our greenhouse in the future and this is possible. As we have a 3 ha sized greenhouse on a site of 10 ha, we have space enough to expand." Besides that, they want to expand their assortment of plants and flowers. "We currently grow anthuriums, roses and orchids, but our high tech greenhouse and R&D department enables us to expand this assortment and adjust this assortment to the needs of our customers, all over the world," says Mohammadi.
