India: A “farmer-friendly” flower show in Mysore District

This year’s Dasara flower show is “farmer-friendly” and Kannada film actors will be supporting the cause of farmers by acknowledging their contribution and celebrating achievers in the horticulture sector.

Outstanding horticulture farmers will be identified and honoured in recognition of their dedication and hard work, and projected as ‘role models’ to fellow farmers for sustainable horticulture.

Over 25 such farmers will be celebrated on each day of the show for eight days. “Three to four farmers will be celebrated daily,” Senior Assistant Director of Horticulture Krishna Kumar told The Hindu on Sunday.

Expressing solidarity with the farming community, Kannada film stars will visit the show daily to celebrate farmers and cheer their achievement.
