Large Dutch horticulture trade delegation to visit Japan this week

The Netherlands Embassy in Tokyo will organize seminars on "Horticulture and Innovation" and "Revitalisation of the Flower Sector" as part of this week's visit of Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister for Agriculture Sharon Dijksma to Japan. They are accompanied by a large economic mission consisting of over 100 Dutch business representatives, including 42 representatives from 28 companies in the horticulture and starting materials sector.




Horticulture and Innovation
The "Seminar on Horticulture and Innovation", on November 11, to be attended by 260 people, will feature the following presentations:
  • Mr Loek Hermans, chairman top sector Horticulture & Starting Materials and head of horticulture trade delegation
  • Mr Mikio Tsunasawa, Director Flower Industry and Greenhouse Horticulture Promotion Office, Horticultural Crop Division, Agricultural Production Bureau, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
  • Mr Fred van Heyningen, Global Head Food & Agri Banking, Rabobank International 
  • Dr Tadahisa Higashide, National Agriculture and Food Research Organisation (NARO)
  • Dr Silke Hemming, Head Scientific research team Greenhouse Technology, Wageningen UR Greenhouse Technology

  • Mr Takafumi Matsuo, Chief Director Food & Agri Business, Takafuji Co., Ltd.

Revitalisation of the Flower Sector
The "Seminar on Revitalisation of the Flower Sector", on November 12, will feature the following presentations:
