UK: Poinsettia new variety assessment & meeting

AHDB Horticulture Project PO 021 ‘Genetic and environmental interactions in poinsettia production and shelf-life’ was commissioned to evaluate a range of new poinsettia varieties from a number of different young plant suppliers on three separate commercial nurseries in the UK (R. Delamore Ltd, KRN House Plants, Louth and Pinetops Nurseries, Lymington), both during production and through/after shelf-life. The trial on view will consist of plants of each variety (ten varieties are being trialled) from all three sites, the plants will then go into shelf-life at the University of Lincoln, Holbeach and will be available for evaluation at a subsequent assessment event on the 13 January 2016 at the University.

The event, which will feature trial viewing and scoring, as well as a discussion of various topics related to poinsettia, will take place November 26, from 10:30 to 15:00.
