Poinsettias still popular in Britain

A recent report from Thompson & Morgan claims that poinsettias have fallen out of fashion in the UK, but Stars for Europe says the classic Christmas plant is still popular, with a 15% increase in UK sales last year. One reason is that more people are buying British grown.

Caring for poinsettias
Poinsettias don't just come in the well-known red color, they also come in colors like white and coral. If they are properly cared for (keep them away from doors and windows), they should last until Christmas. Poinsettias are also sold as cut flowers in bouquets.

International Poinsettia Day falls on December 12th, and this year London florists Okishima & Simmonds are creating a couture dress entirely out of poinsettia in celebration.
