January 20-21, Waukesha:

US (WI): New plants at Garden Center Symposium

On January 20 and 21, the 2016 Garden Center Symposium will be held at the Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The annual event features more than 50 booths and has seminars discussing the industry.

One of the speakers is Mark Dwyer, who has been the Director of Horticulture at Rotary Botanical Gardens (Janesville, WI) for the past 16 years. Along with a talented grounds staff and dedicated volunteers, he oversees the maintenance and improvement of this 20 acre botanical garden which just celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2014.

"With so many newer introductions out in the marketplace," he says, it can be daunting to keep up with the most meritorious of those selections. "As our 'potential planting palettes' increase, knowing these new annuals and perennials helps keep our clients and customers happy."
