One of the aims of FloraHolland 2020 is better margins for their members and their customers. This strategic objective can be partially attained by reducing the cost of the delivery flows by standardising and simplifying operational management (one system, one means). Royal FloraHolland is therefore automating dock allocation at Aalsmeer from 3 January 2016.
Approach route changed
The approach route for delivering flowers and plants has changed because the driver has to pass by the touchscreen terminal from 3 January 2016. The terminals are located behind parking lot P15:
- For flowers: drive past entry B7 to the terminals and via P15 to entry B7.
- For plants: drive to the terminals and follow the familiar route to the plant docks.
Enter your reservation number on the screen. The dock number will be displayed directly on the screen. If your reservation has expired because you arrived later than the specified time, enter your reservation number and make a new reservation with the same data. You can prevent the expiry of your reservation by changing the reservation time using a PC or app.
Don't have a reservation?
Along with your customer number you must specify what the load is that you are delivering and what you will be taking back. Once the data are entered, then you will be allocated a dock number. FloraHolland recommends reserving in advance using your PC or app.
How does the terminal work?
In the first week of January 2016, Royal FloraHolland staff members will be standing by the terminal to help drivers learn to use it.
