The cooperation agreement is signed
De Zonnebloem Jonge Planten BV believes in the power of growing without daylight. 365 days a year a uniform ideal climate with the ability to give an optimal mix of light colours which the plants need, should result in a qualitatively better product with less chemical control needed.
The aim of the research is to implement the technique on a larger scale to safeguard the future of the companies of De Zonnebloem.
First research will be done in the crucial initial stage of growing young plants. In this way De Zonnebloem is able to lead a possible transition from LED light to sunlight evenly. In the future it is also important to consider if there is added value in researching the next stages of the plant development.
Research partner
As their partner for technique they opted for Green-Simplicity. The knowledge and passion of Wan Wessel van Paassen gives them confidence that he can set-up and guide this research LED climate controlled cell. Wessel has developed his own climate system with software so that within this cell several small-scale research units can be controlled separately. He has already realised a few projects since he began working with Green-Simplicity. (For more information: www.greensimplicity.com)
Because of the innovative technique the Green education centre wants to cooperate with De Zonnebloem with this research LED climate controlled cell. Students of Inholland Delft will also collaborate further on developing finding the right climate and lighting. The first test will be also be held in the climate controlled rooms of Inholland in Delft, as well in the cell, so different temperatures can be tested in parallel. This research is led by Frank van de Helm. In addition, students of Wellant Aalsmeer will be involved in this unique project.
