US (FL): Arc Gateway nursery in full bloom for spring

Underneath a large, shaded pavilion at the Arc Gateway nursery, groups of people are digging their hands into rich, dark, potting soil and placing it inside plastic pots of various sizes.

Red blooming plants hang from the rafters, and potted flowers, shrubs, vegetables and trees cover the nursery grounds located near the intersection of Fairfield Drive and 12th Avenue.

Arc Gateway is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Their nursery provides 40 Arc Gateway clients with employment and allows them to earn a paycheck while learning various horticulture skills like plant identification, potting, pruning and propagating.
