The countdown has begun for the flower parade of the ‘Bollenstreek’ (Dutch Bulb Region). In the halls of Harry de Leeuw Company they are busily inserting hyacinths in the parade floats. A homey event that attracts many tourists. The floats must be ready by Friday night for the illuminated ride through Noordwijkerhout in the evening. The highlight is on Saturday, when this colorful, fragrant cavalcade will ride from Noordwijk to Haarlem. On Sunday all parade floats can still be viewed at the Grote Markt and Gedempte oude gracht in Haarlem.
The flower parade is a mega event. Given bad weather some one million people will be in the bulb region on April 23rd. With good weather as many as 1.5 million people will be standing along the road from Noordwijk to Haarlem. IAA-Fresh is one of the proud participants.
