On the first day of the HortiFlor Expo it became clear that the exhibition is not just a major trade fair for the horticultural industry in China, it attracts a lot of visitors as well. The exhibition takes place in Beijing this year and showed some crowded aisles and busy booths today.
Quality
The popularity of the exhibition is not only due to the huge Chinese market, but also a result of the developments in this market. The Chinese consumers are demanding more quality flowers. Technical equipment is becoming more and more important, and the market for starting material is clearly growing.
The event showcases products like green plants, nursery supplies, seeds and seedlings, dry flowers and potted plants. Urban landscaping tools, irrigation facilities, bulbs, garden furniture products and greenhouse equipment are also displayed at the show. Altogether, more than 330 exhibitors are present.
Last year, the Hortiflorexpo IPM that took place in Shanghai concluded with records: 19,280 trade visitors came to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. That corresponded to increase in visitors of two percent. The number of exhibitors and the area rose substantially: On 26,000 square metres (in 2013: 18,000 square metres), 612 exhibitors from 27 countries (in 2013: 413 exhibitors from 24 countries) presented their innovative products and services in the Plants, Technology, Floristry and Garden Features areas.
FloralDaily is present to make a full photo report of the show. It will be published on Tuesday.
