The new GreenTech Breeders Pavilion offers a unique opportunity to see the newest varieties of flowers and vegetables side by side. The Pavilion is located in an actual greenhouse on the show floor, covering 300 square meters. In cooperation with 7 participants of the Flower Trials and Vegetable Tours, visitors of the show enjoy a preview of the greenhouses of breeders in the country using 3D and virtual reality technology.
Visitors can literally see, smell and taste the newest varieties. A chef transfers the ingredients into appetizers, and virtual reality and 3D glasses take you into the greenhouses. Afterwards booking a tour to the breeders of interest completes the experience, just step into the bus at GreenTech and visit the greenhouses of the breeders. Tours can be booked online upon registering as a visitor of GreenTech or via Tour booking.
Participants include:
The Flower Trials, organised in the same week as GreenTech are an opportunity to visit the greenhouses of 52 breeding companies. These companies present their latest innovations and future developments in pot and bedding plants.
“The second week of June is packed with special horticulture events in the Netherlands. Making it a must visit for growers from all corners of the globe,” says Mariska Dreschler, Manager of GreenTech. “We encourage our visitors to make the most out of their visit and visit the Flower Trials participants as well as other events. We provide help with transport and other practicalities where we can.”
The 300 square meter greenhouse is constructed and fully equipped by Hogervorst Tabben. They are a specialist in building and demolishing greenhouses and supplying complete greenhouses, greenhouse technology, individual greenhouse materials and hobby greenhouses for more than 25 years.
