NL: Participation Floradecora leads to a new market perspective on the Vanda

The Vanda Orchid of Anco Pure Vanda has developed into a top brand in Dutch Floriculture. The Vanda Orchid is a well known product and brand for a growing number of consumers. This has been achieved through continuous investments in growing and marketing.



Owner Steef van Adrichem feels great pride for the results achieved with the Vanda: “Vanda is passion and quality. The various colours combined with the diversity makes it a glamorous product. Suitable for a gift, but also very widely used for the decoration of weddings and other events”. However he realises that sitting back is not an option. “In January we participated at Christmasworld in Frankfurt to show our product to a completely new market. Here we have met people from all over the world, who are decisive in the decoration and buying of garden centers, department stores and supermarkets. Furthermore, we met florists, wedding planners and perfumeries. These contacts changed our perspective on our Vandas and marketing approach!”

Together with Green Team Consultancy+ and Birgit Seemann a more natural packaging has been developed, which is more suitable for the German market, based on the reactions of the Christmasworld visitors to the present luxurious packaging approach. Green Team Consultancy+ has tested this new look at Breuninger’s in Düsseldorf. “Breuninger is a chain of high end Department Stores in Germany. We organized a special display of the Vanda with the two packages for the clients of Breuninger. This has led to very positive reactions and clearly showed that the more natural packaging is better suited to the German market,” says Ronald van den Breevaart: “This information is very valuable for Anco Pure Vanda and has a positive influence on the development of the Vanda marketing. This shows that participation in these activities where you meet a complete different market can change your outlook on your company and product!”

Steef fully agrees: “We had our doubts about our participation in Christmasworld, but we are now fully convinced we have to participate in events like Floradecora. That way we broaden our horizon and get in touch with new markets. This gives us new chances in sales, but also a good perspective on our marketing activities. This improves our performance. In the coming months we will further develop our marketing and packaging”.
