Anthura pot plant growers business day
Increasingly more applications for Waterwick and Aquastick
Last Friday Anthura held its annual business day for pot plant growers. After having launched the Waterwick concept last year, Marco van Herk gave an update on the developments over the past year. The Waterwick and Aquastick are developments in the areas of cultivation (refinement), application options, further development of the wick/stick itself and new (sales) opportunities. The concept has led to several new initiatives using the principle of water buffer and stick/wick.
During production several practical tests are performed to explore possibilities for more sustainable production of pot plants. The air purifying effect of Anthurium pot plants was also looked at.
Subsequently Dennis Zuidgeest of Zuidkoop Natural Projects provided insights into the market of interior landscaping and opportunities he sees for the waterwick and aquastick systems. He hereby emphasized that there is increasing attention paid to the positive effects of ‘green’. This is also evident from the emerging Natural and Flowering walls, the so-called plant walls.
After the official program a visit was planned to the greenhouse showroom. It is increasingly important to correctly position breeds in the market, so this year the showroom was expanded with presentations of new and top breeds. Not necessarily as a signal from Anthura to growers, but rather to support growers in the sales process to their business partners and in positioning breeds as best as possible.
