My MultiMa: New system for flexible screening control

Unprecedented freedom in screening control - that is what the new HortiMaX My MultiMa functionality and Synopta 4 software aims to offer growers. Based on the joint experience of Ridder and HortiMaX Growing Solutions, they build the possibilities for custom variables and influences in flexible screening control.

Software module
Joost Veenman, Product Manager for Climate and Energy at HortiMaX, said: "Growers and crop consultants often run into the problem that climate computers do not always provide the control they need. This leads to growers with many ideas about how to control their climate without the right tools to do it. Based on these demands, HortiMaX developed a software module called 'My MultiMa'. Now growers can build their own control algorithms based on existing readouts, new variables, new influences and calculations”.

Screening for a better climate
Mario Scherpenzeel, General Manager for Ridder Climate Screens said: “Screening is becoming more and more important to improve climate control and save on energy costs. Today’s climate screens provide a lot of possibilities to save on energy. At the same time, growers don’t want to do concessions on providing the optimal growing climate for their crops. Using My MultiMa in combination with Ridder Climate Screens and Ridder Drive Systems drives (using for example Ridder Logic Link and the Ridder Position Unit), you can create your own ideal control for the climate above and below the screen. With My MultiMa, growers can for example exactly control the airflow through the screen so the dry air above the screen can be used to lower the humidity deficit below the screen. This is only one of the many possibilities.”
