"Bioplastic is the future"

The GreenTech is primarily an export exhibition, so Desch Plantpak displayed a representative array of each of its three product segments. The company also showed its new logo to the specialist public for the first time.

Harry Bouwmans, International Sales Manager and responsible for Desch Plantpak’s worldwide export, is happy about the exhibition. He says that they received a lot of foreign visitors at their booth and that the exhibition was clearly better attended than the previous edition two years ago. The company also benefited from the simultaneously occurring FlowerTrials, also presenting its range at Syngenta and Florensis.

The focus is currently on the D-Grade Bioplastic range. With D-Grade, Desch offers its customers a range of biodegradable thermoform pots and trays. These pots are made from biodegradable materials completely free of oil components - and are therefore 100% renewable. "For Desch Plantpak sustainability is the future. That's what we believe in and this is where we will continue to direct out new products and developments."

The range is divided into: Thermo, Deco and Bio. Desch Plantpak has three production sites in the Netherlands and obtains products from Germany, the UK and US. All companies work with fully automatic thermoforming machines fed with PP (polypropylene), PS (polystyrene), PET and Biopolymer films. With a total capacity of 30,000 tons of finished product Desch Plantpak is one of the leading thermoform manufacturers in the horticultural market.
