Russia bans flower imports from Uganda

Russia has temporarily restricted the import of flowers, fruit and vegetables from Uganda over concerns that prohibited products may be smuggled into the country, stated a press release from the supervisory authority Rosselkhoznadzor.

Rosselkhoznadzor official Yuliya Melano said the ban will affect practically all well-known fruit, vegetables and flowers imported from the country.

Rosselkhoznadzor requested information from Uganda about the volumes of produce supplied to Russia, as this has not been provided, Russia has been forced to ban Ugandan imports from July 7th, said the authority.
