Longi lily season started at British flower nursery

Twitter updates of Collison Cut Flowers show that the longi lily season has started at their flower nursery in Terrington St Clement, Kings Lynn, Norfolk in the UK. Fresh lilies are sorted and bundled with a Bercomex Furora Compact. The bunched lilies are supplied in large volumes to supermarkets.

The longi lilies are grown in greenhouses. With the summer temperatures of the moment, lilies grow fast and are subsequently graded and bunched rapidly.

Collison is a real family business that grows many different types of flowers. Two years ago, Collison opted for a Bercomex Furora Compact to grade and bunch automatically. This Furora was initially only used for sorting and bundling tulips automatically, subsequently lilies and summer flowers are also processed with the Furora.

The main reasons for Collison to opt for a Furora Compact is the improved control of costs and the increase of capacity. Click here to read more about the automatic processing of flowers Collison.
