Royal FloraHolland: Gerhard van der Bijl is the new CIO

From 1 October 2016, Gerhard van der Bijl will take up his appointment as CIO (ICT Concern manager) at Royal FloraHolland. Gerhard is currently still working at Wehkamp as the Technology and Platform Development manager.

Steven van Schilfgaarde (CFO) said, "Gerhard has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of digital strategy. This is an essential contribution to strengthen Royal FloraHolland as a powerful player in the international horticultural business and to realise the objectives of Royal FloraHolland 2020. In addition, Gerhard will be responsible for the transition to a new ICT organisation and the ICT operation."

Gerhard van der Bijl replied, "Royal FloraHolland is a fabulous 'Holland's Trademark', a great company with a rich history in a dynamic sector. I have great respect for all the innovations with which Royal FloraHolland is continuously searching for more added value for its buyers and members throughout the chain.
