Special oils makes roses last a year

A Queensland florist is selling boxes of roses that stay in bloom for a whopping 12 months.

Co-owner Bakulia Ayupova told Daily Mail Australia the flowers are soaked in a special oil that preserves them for up to a year.

‘The roses get freshly cut and are soaked in special oils, including glycerine and other oils, that preserve them,’ she said.

‘There are no harmful chemicals or anything used.

‘The process of preserving them keeps them looking fresh and fresh to touch as well.’

Ms Ayupova, 28 of Brisbane, started the online business Fleur du Luxe with her sister Aida Samsonova, 32, who lives on the Gold Coast, in May this year.
