Australian flower industry steps out in style

The Australian cut flower and foliage industry stepped out in style to celebrate the launch of the inaugural Australian Flowers Week.

Surrounded by thousands of flowers in the decorated venue, over 300 members of the Australian industry descended on Darling Harbour in Sydney, to celebrate their industry, the year that was and the kick-off to the inaugural Australian Flowers Week.

The week was launched by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture Senator Anne Ruston, also owner of Ruston’s Roses in South Australia and self-proclaimed “Minister of Flowers” at the gala event.

The event also provided an opportunity to award student florists with scholarships provided by the Flower Growers Group of New South Wales and recognise industry members for their contribution over the previous year.
