Oct 24-28, Nov 1-4 in the Netherlands, and Nov 7-18 in France:

Innovation, diversity key to production trials Morel Diffusion

Innovation and diversity. These words are key to the varieties that will be showcased at the production trials of the French cyclamen breeder Morel Diffusion. For years, Morel innovates its products by putting consistency and performance into standard colors and builds on diversity with ever more imagination to keep enthralling its customers. And during their production trials, which will be held in October (from 24-28 in Zuidoostbeemster) and November (from 1-4 in Zuidoostbeemster and from 7-18 in Frejus), they are eager to present their new and existing cyclamen varieties.

'Collection Nationale'
And diversity is not only what they claim to be, they have it down in black and white. Recently, Morel Diffusion's F1 hybrids collection has been designated a 'Collection Nationale' by the CCVS (Conservatoire des Collections Végétales Spécialisées). This recognition ensures long-term varietal diversity, which is pivotal to their cyclamen breeding business. "We are passionate innovators, and our ambition is to guarantee long-lasting quality and excellence of our products."

The plants from Morel seeds are characterized by their resistance to heat conditions during growing, tolerance against Botrytis, long shelf life at consumers’ and striking colors. At the moment they have 6 series; Smartiz, Metis, Tianis, Premium, Latinia and Halios, which range from mini to maxi flower- and pot sizes.

Vibrant colors
The 2016/2017 collection is characterized by its vibrant colors, both in the indoor and outdoor cyclamen varieties. Below is a sneak peak. According to the Morel, these are the five 'must see' indoor novelties that will be showcased at the trials.

Fantasia® Purple, Fantasia® Magenta- Smartiz
Fantasia® Purple and Fantasia® Magenta are the two new additions in the Smartiz series. The cyclamen in this series have a 6-10.5 pot size and are known for their compact and easy to grow habit. These varieties are now the smallest cyclamen in their Fantasia® collection. The color contrast of both varieties is intense, they have a very low sensitivity to Botrytis and they are great for growing in micro and up.

Rose and deep rose - Tianis®
Also their third smallest series, the Tianis, is expanding with two new colors; rose and deep rose. The Tianis rose colored cyclamen is a highly abundant and central flowering cyclamen and is easy to grow at the beginning of the season. The Tianis Deep rose has a highly intense and bright color and flowers like the Tianis Rose. Moreover, this color is higly resistant to heat. The Tianis series is known for its very short culture time and uniform growth habits.

Funflame® Magenta - Halios®
The Funflame® Magenta is new in the largest series of morel; the Halios®. This series is known for its large pot size 12-17 cm and its big plant volume. Besides that, it is has a very round and super sturdy habit and is easy to grow. The new Funflame® Magenta compact also has decorative foliage. Moreover, it grows well in hot conditions and is suited to high density growth.
