ErfGoed showcases ebb-and-flow floor at IFTF

The popularity of ErfGoed's ebb-and-flow floor continues to gain ground internationally. Companies in 15 different countries are now using these Dutch cultivation floors to grow their crops. And the company based in Moerkapelle is receiving inquiries from more and more countries. In order to be able to meet the increasing demand, the company has already opened offices in Canada, reports managing director Hugo Paans, and a network of agents is being used in other countries. "We believe it is important that we can devote attention to growth in those areas while, at the same time, remaining focused on the Netherlands. This is where our roots are and, together with growers and research centers we will continue to develop our cultivation floor."

Paans believes it is not surprising that so many countries are showing interest in the ErfGoedFloor. The system seems to offer great benefits in almost all circumstances. The company has, for instance, already installed floors in Brazil and Saudi Arabia. As Paans says, "On more than one occasion this cultivation system has shown that it provides ideal growing conditions. And the result is a uniform, robust, thriving crop."

First time at IFTF
Increasing globalization has led ErfGoed to participate in this year's IFTF, to be held at the start of November in Vijfhuizen. "In addition to benefits such as, for instance, uniformity, in Vijfhuizen we will be demonstrating our cultivation floor's versatility and suitability for all forms of internal logistics. Many growers still think that this aspect of their operations is incompatible with a cultivation floor. So growers opt for a cultivation system with a solid, closed substrate such as asphalt or concrete. But that is definitely not necessary. A fork-lift truck or other machinery can work just fine on our cultivation floor. In this way, growers can benefit from the ideal growing conditions that the cultivation floor offers them, without having to make concessions in terms of internal logistics."
