US (PA): DVFG opens distribution center in Cranberry

Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has announced the opening of a new Sales & Distribution Center in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The new facility is located just north of Pittsburgh in the Cranberry Commerce Center, at 322 Commerce Park Drive, Cranberry Township, PA, 16066.

The 10,000 sq. ft. facility consolidates distribution and logistics for the recently acquired Pittsburgh Cut Flower Company, and also houses offices for the DVFlora Pittsburgh sales team. This newest Sales & Distribution Center is strategically located near the intersection of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 79. The Cranberry facility is designed to improve service level commitments to DVFG’s growing customer base in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, and positions the company for further geographic expansion. The Cranberry facility also supports distribution for the DVFlora sales team located in Erie, Pennsylvania.

To introduce DVFlora’s customers to the new facility, an Open House was held on October 30th. The Open House included displays of Fresh Cut Flowers from California and growing regions around the world, as well as displays of Floral Supplies and Botanicals. DVFlora’s senior rose buyer, Mike Mitchell, presented a seminar on roses, including 77 varieties of the up to 300 that DVFlora has available. DVFlora associates also provided active demonstrations of its on-line ordering systems including dvflora.com and Grower Direct.

Bob Luthultz stated: "I am thrilled to bring the DV model to this area with the country's largest inventory of fresh flowers and floral supplies, the ability to order later in the day, early and consistent delivery, aggressive farm-direct pricing, combined with existing relationships between our sales reps and their customers."

The Pittsburgh management team includes: Regional General Manager, Bob Luthultz, with over 32 years experience in floral wholesaling and Distribution Manager, Ed Laughlin, with 33 years experience in distribution.
