"After months of hard work by our executive staff of organizing and preparing content, we are excited to bring this new website to the gardening community. The new enhancements and search features will ensure a positive and informative user experience for all of our visitors, both industry professionals and gardening consumers” said Mark Gross, chair of the AAS marketing and communications committee.
The primary function of the new AAS Website is to highlight all AAS Winners, from 1932 to present. An intuitive search function allows users to search by year, Annual class, Perennial class or Edible class, Winner Type, Regional Winners and suggested usage. Each individual AAS Winner page provides extensive details on that specific plant including photos, a description and a separate page showing where to buy AAS Winners from National Garden Bureau member’s online stores.
For commercial horticulture, the “Industry” tab provides easy-to-navigate information for judges, breeders, Display Gardens and AAS Ambassadors. Breeders can find and download entry forms for each of the four AAS trials. Judges, after logging in, can access entry descriptions and score sheets. Garden Retailers can download signs and variety markers for recent AAS Winners under ‘Signs and Brochures’. Those interested in helping promote AAS Winners can find the AAS logos, explanatory signage and PowerPoints under the ‘AAS Ambassador Tools’ section.
A searchable list of all AAS Display Gardens is located under the ‘Display Gardens’ tab where consumers can locate gardens to visit in their local area.
