From left to right: Frank Hofland (5th generation), Frans Hofland (3rd generation), Annemiek Hofland (5th generation) and Goos Hofland (4th generation). "The former company name was F. Hofland & Zn BV. F. in the name stands for Frans (3rd generation) and Zn stands for his sons Goos and Peter (involved in the company from the sidelines)."
The company already had roots in the earliest period of the Westland region in the Netherlands. In 1899 John Hofland started as a grower in Naaldwijk. His son Goos Hofland took over the company in 1928 and started with the cactuses, Frans took over in 1960 and specialized in the Schlumbergera (Christmas cacti).
Looking at the market, the cactus is doing well recently. Hofland also notices an increased interest in the plants, both from the florist as well as from the consumer. At the same time the grower does not get upset from market trends: "In 36 years from now, we still hope to grow Schlumbergera!"
The new look is designed in collaboration with Omber Visuals.
During the Seasonal Trade Fair in Naaldwijk, customers, business partners and fellow growers are in for a delicious treat. So please do come and visit us in booth 14.1 at the Fair.
