The rather large floral art piece is just the beginning of Canada Blooms 2017, the largest flower and garden festival in the country, and represents a mere fraction of the 20,000 plants that await within. And that says nothing about the seminars, workshops, marketplace and Toronto Flower Show that make the 21st annual Canada Blooms a must-attend event for gardeners old and new.
“Consider this a sneak peek at spring,” says Canada Blooms General Manager Terry Caddo. “This winter hasn’t been particularly awful, but it has still been damp and grey and, at times, quite cold. Canada Blooms is an infusion of colour and vibrancy when you need it most, and will get you in the mood for the spring planting season.”
Now open at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Canada Blooms is showcasing the latest trends, gardening tools and expertise until March 19th.
Highlights of this year’s show include:
- Oh! Canada theme celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary
- 30 Feature gardens featuring the latest trends in garden design and landscaping
- Brampton Brick’s Do Up the Doorstep gardens for small spaces
- The Secret Garden Path inspired by the tragic story of Chanie Wenjack
- Floral Alley, with innovative displays inspired by Canada
- Botanical Art Exhibition, presented in conjunction with the ROM
