UK: Sainsbury's warns customers not to eat flowers

Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has placed an unusual safety warning on one of its products.

The retail giant has been marking the start of spring by selling daffodils, but the bright flowers have come with an odd warning.

On some bunches, the words "Do not eat" and a red warning logo have appeared and are perplexing shoppers.

Confused customers have since been sharing photos of their purchase on social media questioning why they would need the warning.

A spokesman for the store said it was done in order for customers to avoid mistaking the plant for another vegetable.
