Netherlands: Summer at Sunsation growers

The marketing season for pot sunflowers is in full swing. To stimulate consumer purchases, Sunsation - a Dutch growers collective - is working with COW PR, a PR agency in London, to organise various promotional activities aimed at British consumer media. In addition, a promotional video was produced, and the sunny look of pot sunflowers will also be reflected on the cultivation pots. Starting in 2017, these will be produced in an eye-catching yellow.

Together with Judith Baehner, a Dutch blogger at Het Groenlab, the Sunsation growers’ collective produced a video clip, ‘Create your own sunshine’. The video is an extra promotional tool for florists and garden centres that they can use at their website or on their social media. More than 5 million Sunsation pot sunflowers are expected to be supplied by 13 growers this year. The United Kingdom isn’t the only important market for this product. So are Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium where promotional campaigns are also stimulating consumer purchases.
