Jan van den Bos, former chairman of the Association of Wholesalers in Ornamentals Nursery Products (VGB), passed away last Wednesday after a short sickbed. This was announced on Monday July 18, on the day of the farewell gathering.
Van den Bos was the director of the VGB for 22 years, of which 15 were spent as chairman. In 2002, he was succeeded by Herman de Boon. At the time of his resignation he was appointed Officer in the Order of Orange Nassau by Cees Veerman, the Minister of Agriculture at that time. He also received the gold pin and honorary membership of the VGB.
