The Joop Zoetemelk garden, based on simplicity, is one of the eight inspirational gardens that have been designed for Plantarium on the basis of the theme 'Stories'. Gardini.nl is responsible for the execution and the design is by Peter Zaal. In the week leading up to Plantarium, the former professional cyclist Joop Zoetemelk, who lives in France, will officially name the garden.
The other inspirational gardens are based on Walt Disney (Fantasy), executed by Willemstein, Mozart (Genius), Salvador Dali (Unusual), executed by Buiten/Buiten, Don Quichot (Struggle), Nelson Mandela (Unify), Anne Frank (Desire), executed by Willemstein and Annie M.G. Schmidt (Playful), executed by de Aar Hoveniers. Each garden stands in its own right and tells the story of the person concerned.
