NL: Construction update Green Trade Center Aalsmeer

Just over 100 days until the opening of the Green Trade Center in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. Over the last few months a lot of hard work has been carried out on the construction of the Green Trade Center - and with great results! On what was initially just a bare construction site there now stands a large part of the new premises.

The new Green Trade Center will shortly house the largest product range in Europe:
  • 10,000 m2 of houseplants
  • 4,000 m2 of garden plants / arboriculture items
  • 3,500 m2 of accessories
  • 2,500 m2 of flower

Also Thermoflor contributes to the construction of the 'Growers' House', as it is baptized by Waterdrinker. The construction took off the end of March and is almost finished. To give an impression of the current situation, the company posted this timelapse online:

Grower's House
The construction of the trade center, that will have the size of 30,000m2, has two reasons. Firstly, growers receive space to present their products in shop-in-shops, a concept that has proven to boost individual sales. Besides that, Waterdrinker has grown significantly over the last year. Last year, for example, the turnover increased by 10 percent and the facilities in the auction building do not suffice anymore.
