‘Woodlands inspire!’ With this slogan the German forestry sector is presenting many different aspects of sustainably managed woodland at the International Green Week Berlin 2018. From 19 to 28 January the emphasis in Hall 4.2 will be on nature conservation and the environmental functions of woodlands, their role as a place of work and their contribution to supplying timber and food. In addition to the large information alley another attraction is the Green Week Woodland campaign, which provides visitors with an opportunity to get actively involved and help with the planting of trees in Berlin.
The Multi-talented Wood show is a lively and diverse source of information occupying more than 2,000 square metres. Forestry experts are showing examples of sustainable woodland and forestry management, while innovative companies are providing examples of efficient timber processing. During the fair a Wood Workshop is being set up to show how timber can be used to make modern construction elements, and carpenters will be demonstrating their skills. Heating with wood helps to prevent climate change as well as reducing CO2 emissions, and the exhibitors of heating systems and materials will be demonstrating these benefits. The Multi-talented Wood display features activities such as planing and sawing, and climbing is allowed too. The exhibitions and displays about interior fittings and furniture are a useful source of expert information, and they also show what a warm and natural atmosphere this amazing, multi-talented material creates in the home.
