"Christmasworld Event Programme will bring Merry Business"
In parallel with Christmasworld, Floradecora, the innovative market place for instantly available fresh flowers and ornamental plants, will be entering its second round in Galleria 1. This location is perfectly situated between the 'Florists’ requisites & Garden decorations', 'Seasonal decorations & Gifts' and 'Christmas & Advent' product areas. "This means that, on all five days of the fair, interested buyers can order not only the 'hard' decorative goods but also 'fresh' flowers and plants for their product ranges of seasonal and festive decorations", says Eva Olbrich, Director of Christmasworld and Floradecora. These adjustments to location and timing provide a better business environment for exhibitors and visitors. At Floradecora, fresh flowers, plants and arrangements will be clearly displayed according to types, so that visitors can immediately compare the quality, size and colour of products from all suppliers, and order them directly. Particularly in demand at the moment are low-maintenance products and presentation solutions that can be easily introduced into the product range. For this, suppliers will also have numerous suggestions for ready-made concepts on their stands/Flower Circles to hand. Among those exhibiting are Barendsen B.V., Flora Dania Marketing A/S, Goedegebuure Natural Decoration VOF and LG Flowers.
Overview of the events and highlights
The comprehensive complementary programme at Christmasworld will focus on new growth potential – primarily for the lucrative Christmas period, but also for every occasion, season and festival throughout the year. The digital Event Calendar on the Christmasworld website provides a valuable service. Here visitors can find all the events at a glance and put together their own personal programme, in order to make most efficient use of their visit to the fair. www.christmasworld.messefrankfurt.com/events
The Trend Show will be staging the trends for 2018/19 (Foyer, Hall 11.0)
What is new? What is here to stay? The first port of call and most important source of inspiration is the Trend Show. Drawing on trends in society, interior design and fashion, the bora.herke.palmisano design studio will be providing helpful suggestions for putting together product ranges: they will be using exhibitors’ products to stage four design scenarios - 'eclectic gathering', 'splendid history', 'vivid heritage' and 'balanced sobriety'. From this broad selection of colours, designs and materials for the 2018/19 festive season, buyers will easily be able to select highlights for their own individual product ranges. All products used will be labelled with the exhibitor’s name and stand number. The trend lectures and guided tours will be taking place daily - at 11.00 and 13.00 from 26 to 29 January 2018, and at 12.00 on 30 January 2018. The corresponding trend cards will be available free of charge on the information stand in the foyer of Hall 11.0.
'The Loft' Special Presentation stimulates the redesign of retail spaces (new: Via Mobile, Hall 9/11)
Rudi Tuinman and Pascal Koeleman from 2Dezign will be showing how shopping can become an emotional experience. In their special show, they will be providing inspiration for new window and shop displays, and designs for large retail spaces, that entice the customers to buy. This time, 2Dezign will be creating an elegant and modern loft scenario in black and white, and they will be celebrating the most festive colour of all: red! A unique combination of fresh flowers and plants, with the best of seasonal and festive decoration, awaits the trade visitors. Here too, all the materials and products used will be labelled with the exhibitor’s name and stand number – including the fresh flowers that can be ordered at Floradecora.
The Christmasworld Forum will bring fresh know-how (Foyer, Hall 11.0)
Practical lectures and workshops refresh know-how and convey expert knowledge: the Christmasworld Forum in the foyer of Hall 11.0 will provide daily changing lectures and workshops on the latest topics in the sector – and advise on how to successfully retain customers, present products and display them at the point of sale, and expand product ranges. In the live 'Wrap up!' presentations, trade buyers will be able to look directly over the shoulder of gift-wrapping artist Ulla Büning and discover numerous ideas for wrapping gifts. Well-known speakers, including Burkhard Treude, Katja Dittmar, Jan Spijkers, Gabriela Kaiser, Andreas Sudeck, Franz Josef Isensee, Alexander von Keyserlingk and Marcel Schulz, will also be taking part in the forum. All the lectures, workshops and presentations will be translated simultaneously into English, and participation is free of charge.
New: Christmas Delights will ensure there’s a Christmas market atmosphere (Foyer, Hall 9.0 and Galleria 0)
The experience of the fair will be sweetened by 'Christmas Delights', with drinks, biscuits and pastries, confectionery, and teas supplementing what is on offer for the first time. A new exhibition space with Christmas huts is going to be constructed for this new product area, where buyers can find out how they can make culinary products appetising for their customers as gifts and also as souvenirs for their own use at home. Among those participating will be Amodeo Food GmbH, Bayernwald Glühwein, Concorde Süßwaren & Gebäck GmbH, Deheck Destillerie, Tafelgut, Wunderle, and Heike Bringemeier e.K.
The Best Christmas City competition is looking for the city with the best retail promotions during Advent
Together with the German Federal Association for City and Town Marketing (Bundesvereinigung City- und Stadtmarketing Deutschland e.V. - bcsd) and the trade journal, Public Marketing, Christmasworld is looking for the best marketing campaign in the run up to Christmas. The starting date for applications from towns and cities is 1 November 2017. They will then have until 7 December 2017 to submit online their unique concept, with expressive photos, videos and written texts, at www.bestchristmascity.de, in order to win attractive prizes for their town. The prizes are being provided by MK Illumination Handels GmbH and the Assocation for Consumer, Marketing and Sales Research (Gesellschaft für Markt- und Absatzforschung mbH - GMA). The next step is to ask the general public for their views. Up until 9 January 2018, they can vote online for the most beautiful and Christmassy town in Germany. The public prize goes to the town placed first with the most online votes. In addition, an expert panel will decide on the three main prize winners in the Small, Medium and Large Town categories. Names of the winners here will not be announced until the fair.
