Phalaenopsis
The majority of the Mexican flower growers are based in the Southern part of the country. The phalaenopsisis is a popular plant to grow and the annual production of this plant is expected to increase sharply in the coming years. It was in 2016 1.2 million and is expected to reach 4 million in 2020.

Quality
So, the competition is getting stronger and the awareness of quality is therefore starting to rise. More growers seem to be willing to invest to grow a better product. And a higher quality product seems to be in good demand. When taking a walk through the city center of Guanajuato, for example, more luxurious flower shops are popping up.
