Wafex USA to acquire Fresh Pack Flowers

Wafex USA, located in Fallbrook, California, is to acquire Fresh Pack Flowers as of January 1, 2018.

Wafex USA is a floral importer specializing in Australian and South African native cut flowers. Fresh Pack Flowers is a distributor of California-grown flowers and foliage.

Recognizing the counter-seasonal nature of the two companies, Wafex USA Managing Partner Steve Dionne and Fresh Pack owner Lee Racey are excited to announce that the two companies will join forces to provide complete, year-round sourcing solutions for floral wholesalers throughout North America.

“North American customers of Wafex USA look to our company to provide consistent, high-quality supply of Protea, Waxflower, Leucospermum, Serruria and other crops native to the Southern Hemisphere. With this strategic expansion, we now are able to provide the same range during California’s production season, which is opposite that of our worldwide sources”, said Steve Dionne. “This also adds to our product range for our export customers throughout Asia and Europe.”

Racey added, “Our team at Fresh Pack is very excited to bring Wafex USA’s well-established and highly unique import programs to our customers. The ability to offer premium brands such as Helix Hybrid Waxflower to our clients during what would normally be our production off-season in these categories creates a win-win-win from farm to floral wholesaler to end consumer.”

Wafex USA will open a new office to accommodate its expanded staff. The Fresh Pack trade name will be eliminated and all Fresh Pack accounts will shift to Wafex USA. Completion of the transition will be January 1, 2018.
