The nursery in De Lier is not optimally set up for the implementation of the chosen strategy. A new owner for this nursery has now been found, who can continue to work at this location for many years. The transfer of the nursery will be effected by mid-2019, and in the coming 12 months the nursery in De Lier will continue to produce and deliver Phalaenopsis.
Arno and José van der Maarel from Maarel Orchids have transferred the shares of the company to their children, which means the next generation of the family is fully involved with the future and the developments within the company. René Vissers has joined the Maarel Orchids management and this appointment is intended to focus on further professionalisation of the company.
