Vietnam: Agricultural Counsellor Arie Veldhuizen awarded honorable Medal

On 14 June 2018, Dutch Agricultural Counsellor Arie Veldhuizen received a Medal from the Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Le Quoc Doanh for his contributions to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands in agriculture development in Vietnam. In his speech at the ceremony, Vice Minister Doanh stressed that the Netherlands is always the key partner of Vietnam in agriculture and agro-food development.

This Medal is the highest decoration that may be awarded by the Vietnamese Government to an expat, who made great contributions in Vietnam's development. Bestowing this Medal to Mr. Arie Veldhuizen is a symbol of the great appreciation by Vietnamese Government for Dutch contributions in Vietnam.

During the memorable ceremony, Mr. Arie Veldhuizen was joined by his spouse; the Deputy Head of Mission Mrs Pauline Eizema; the agriculture team; and other colleagues at the Embassy. Mr Arie Veldhuizen will leave Vietnam for his new post in July 2018.
