US (FL): Growers raise money for scholarship fund
On June 9th and 10th, members of the Florida Nursery, Growers, and Landscaper Association (FNGLA), Perfect Plants, participated in the annual Scholarship Plant Sale by joining in with other local nurseries to donate plants for a big sale in Tallahassee. All proceeds from the sale go into a scholarship fund and is awarded to students looking to further their education in the horticulture field. The fund was established to encourage young students to pursue horticulture degrees and enhance the industry.
Perfect Plants, a family-owned and operated online mail-order plant nursery that operates out of Northern Florida, has donated plants to the FNGLA Scholarship Plant Sale for the past 3 years.
"It is such a great fund and we are very happy that we can be a part of the Scholarship Plant Sale every year," says Alex, Owner of Perfect Plants. "We love our line of work and hope to encourage students to go into the horticulture field."
